Batch & Automation
Subwright supports batch queues, watch folders, and automation interfaces so repetitive transcription runs itself.
Batch queue
Adding files
- Select media in the library and choose “Add to transcription queue”, or open Queue from the sidebar
- Drag multiple files into the queue, or click “Add Files”
- (Optional) Set output format, save path, and translation mode
- Click “Start Batch Transcription”
Queue management
- Files are processed in the order added
- View progress and status for each file
- Pause, resume, skip, or remove items
- Output original, bilingual, or translation-only text per file; half-translated results are not saved
- Export completed files individually
Watch folder
Set a folder and new audio/video files are automatically transcribed:
- Enable “Watch Folder” in Settings
- Select the folder path to monitor
- Set auto-transcription options (language, engine, output format, translation mode)
- Drop files into the folder — transcription starts automatically
- Results are saved to the specified output directory; SRT/VTT can also be written next to the source
Suggestions
- Pair with your Downloads folder: browser downloads auto-transcribe
- Team shared folder: auto-process new files for collaboration
- Podcast workflow: new episodes auto-generate subtitles
Automation and integrations
- CLI:
subwright transcribe <file>supports SRT / VTT / TXT / JSON, directory batches, and--streamprogress; it can launch the app when needed (SUBWRIGHT_NO_LAUNCH=1disables that). - MCP:
subwright mcpexposes transcribe / status / list_transcripts / read_transcript / list_models for AI clients. - Webhooks: push per-file success or failure events with HMAC-SHA256 signatures and custom headers.
Batch analysis
Aggregate analysis across multiple transcripts:
- Cross-file keyword search
- Statistics overview (total duration, word count, speaker distribution)
- Generate comparison reports
Great for organizing interview series, podcast seasons, quarterly meeting records, etc.
